Here's the deal, I'll probably be moving in a few weeks and the house that we are looking at is 500 feet out of range for DSL. So that leaves us with 144/144 IDSL (shitty) and Cable as our only choices for broadband. The only available Cable company out here is Comcast and I'm wondering what their service is like. Are there any limitations on bandwidth usage? Do they block certain ports? please let me know what you like/dislike about them.

Nope, never had a problem with them. There are no bandwidth limitations at all, and there are no ports blocked, or at least as far as I know. It's up to the user to block their ports, using either a firewall, router, or the such.
Only beef I have right now is the cable bill, but that's only because of my sister... she bounced a check, ended up owing $300 since May 1st, account was already locked for impending disconnection on the 21st... she didn't pay them ANY money, although she could have, and now we owe $500... so that's her fault.
